台灣的小黑蚊主要是台灣鋏蠓(Forcipomyia taiwana Shiraki)，被小黑蚊叮會造成嚴重紅腫，奇癢難耐，甚至產生過敏反應，目前未證實會傳播疾病，是一種嚴重的騷擾性昆蟲。相關資料請至小黑蚊資訊服務中心(http://bmisc.weebly.com)自行下載參考應用。
